Stock Photo Licensing.

Do you need a photo for an advertising campaign, magazine, calendar, etc? A few select images from my gallery are available for licensed commercial or editorial use.

The photos can come in two types of licenses- managed rights or royalty free. The photos will be listed as one or the other, and prices vary. Below is a basic explanation of the two.

Managed Rights

Royalty Free

A rights-managed license grants a world wide specific use of a photo for commercial and editorial use with a circulation of fewer than 100,000. The license is limited to one year on a non-exclusive basis. There are also limitations on use for religious or political opinions. The buyer has no rights to re-sell, sub-license, copy, or lend and/or hire any photo. Copyright remains the exclusive property of the photographer. A royalty-Free license grants a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, and distribute and publish the photo and derivative works. The licensee can not transfer usage rights to any third party and agrees to take all reasonable steps to prevent third parties from duplicating or distributing the photo. The licensee pays a one-time fee and does not have to pay a royalty on a use-by-use basis. Copyright remains the exclusive property of the photographer.
